Goals
«The Art of Living» is an international NGO, founded by H.H. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and enjoying special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations. The statutory goal of «The Art of Living» is to create a stress-free and violence-free society. The basis for a stress-free society is the peaceful individual. «The Art of Living» provides humanitarian projects at the societal level and courses for the individual.

Organisational Structure
The Art of Living is a multi-faceted, not-for-profit educational and humanitarian NGO with a presence in over 140 countries. Internationally the organisation operates as the International Art of Living Foundation, founded in 1989 in the USA and which coordinates the work of/acts a bridge between/ national organisations. In Germany, Die Kunst des Lebens Deutschland e.V. was established in 1989.
